Secrets to Effective iPhone App Marketing

About the Authors

Mike Vallez

Mike has always had a strong affinity for smartphones since they first became available. His first was a Palm Treo, then a couple of Blackberry’s, a Samsung BlackJack, and finally the iPhone. Mike admits to having an unhealthy interest (spending hours each day) in studying iPhone apps. He studies the best apps in all categories, what they offer, their quality, ability to deliver what they promise, and so on.

Mike has developed impressive iPhone app marketing skills that include:

  • how to pre-plan your app for the market
  • branding
  • app-specific search engine optimization (SEO)
  • creative content
  • user interface development
  • project management.

If that isn’t impressive enough, Mike also has extensive expertise with all aspects of social media and has assisted companies such as iPhone Life Magazine and USA Crusader with their social media projects. Mike is the founder of Crazy Mike’s Apps, where he publishes performance reviews of iPhone apps that use a unique blend of honesty, good-natured fun and sarcasm. His goal is to ensure that consumers are spending their money wisely on iPhone apps, services, and accessories, not to alienate the developer.

Bryan Bowers

Bryan is a serial entrepreneur who has founded multiple technology (Bowers Technologies) and Internet-based (iProduceApps, a Foodie Blog, Church Marketing Experts) companies. He began his technology career in 1987 while still in high school. Bryan taught himself to program and began selling applications on online bulletin board systems (precursor to the Internet’s World Wide Web). Fast forward two decades, and Bryan is still completely immersed in the technology industry. Along the way, he managed to pick up undergraduate and graduate degrees in information technology.

After purchasing an iPhone, Bryan quickly realized the tremendous potential of the device and began writing iPhone apps. His company now has six apps available for download on the iTunes store, and one of them is in the Top 50 downloads there. In addition, the company has created apps for multiple clients that are promoted under their own name. Like Mike, Bryan also has battle-tested skills in promoting and marketing iPhone apps.
